Although the mens Barbour Chelsea Waterproof Mac is machine washable, we would recommend spot treating first where possible to avoid unnecessary wear to the waterproof coating. Gently sponge clean the affected area using cold water only to dissolve the sugar syrup and avoid scrubbing; then allow the coat to air dry naturally away from heat. If machine washing is required, use a gentle 30°C cycle with non-biological liquid detergent only and no fabric softener. A spray-on waterproof reproofer, such as the one included in the Barbour Waterproof Jacket Care Kit can be applied after cleaning to restore water repellency.
