With a 48-inch chest we would recommend either the 40, or 42 as your best options for the Barbour Men’s Classic Northumbria Wax Jacket. The 40 has a 50-inch chest, while you would have a little more room for layering with the 42 as it has a 52-inch chest. The back length of this jacket is 37.9 inches for both these sizes, although the 42 also has a slightly wider back and sleeve length, between these two sizes it’s ultimately a personal choice between a slimmer fitting garment, or one you can have a little more room in.
